From January 13 to February 12, 2022, David Zwirner Gallery, New York, presents ‘Unrepeated: Unique Prints by Two Palms.’ Featuring works by Marina Adams, Mel Bochner, Cecily Brown, Peter Doig, Carroll Dunham, Chris Ofili, Elizabeth Peyton, Dana Schutz, Stanley Whitney and Terry Winters, the exhibition focuses on the latest work produced at the Two Palms printmaking studio. Founded in 1994, Two Palms has positioned itself as one of the leading studios in the field of printmaking. In its own words, the studio “upends codified notions of what a print could or should be, utilizing a constantly expanding roster of tools and technologies, while nurturing an expertise in traditional techniques.”

Also on January 13, David Zwirner presents an exhibition of works by American artist James Castle (1899–1977). Born in Idaho, Castle -deaf by birth- began drawing at age seven, finding in drawing his primary form of expression, creating intricate works that, in the gallery’s words, “embody a sense of lived-in familiarity and display the artist’s preternatural understanding of perspective and spatial relations and his deep sensitivity to his environment.” Over the past two decades, Castle’s work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions and retrospectives, including one organized in 2008–2010 by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. #2022 #theartwolf
